WATCH: Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and others dance in pool after 228-runs victory against Pakistan

Former India skipper Virat Kohli, alongside other players, was seen celebrating in a swimming pool. Apparently, in what was a two-day affair, the Men In Blue dominated the game on the reserve day (Sep 11). Resuming from 147/2 in 24.1 overs, the likes of Kohli and KL Rahul scored a century each. They helped the team reach a record total of 356/2. In reply, Pakistan was bowled out for 128 runs, losing the game by 228 runs. Kuldeep Yadav took a five-for.

Meanwhile, after the game, Kohli was adjudged Player of the Match for his 122 not out. With Rahul, he put together 233 runs, another record between India and Pakistan.

“I always prepared my game in a way I can help the team. Today was a classic example of you don’t get off to a good start… KL started better, I was trying to bring him on strike and playing second fiddle. And yes, then after that I stepped up where I could. I take a lot of pride in fitness. Pushing for doubles are easy runs, compared to a big shot. It has paid off before, hope to continue in the same way. (Partnership… was classical.) Both KL and myself are both conventional players. And when you have him batting the way he was and me playing, its tough to break these partnerships because we don’t play fancy shots. We didn’t think about the partnership too much, the idea was to ‘keep batting.’ It is one of the memorable partnerships we’ve had and for Indian cricket as well. He hit form for us straightaway, good for us.

We are Test cricketers so we can adjust: Virat Kohli

As the Indo-Pak game was shifted to the reserve day, India now needs to play against the defending champions, Sri Lanka on September 12. On being asked about this, Kohli said that as some of the players have played Test cricket, they can play another ODI game.

“Its the first time I have done anything like this in 15 years of cricket. Luckily we are Test players, so we know how to come back the next day and play. Recovery is crucial. It was humid out there today. I am 35 in November, so I need to take care of my recovery. A big shoutout to the ground staff from my side.”
