WATCH: Virat Kohli gets Medal for best fielding against Australia in ODI WC 2023
Former India skipper Virat Kohli played another match-winning knock when the team was in trouble against Australia in the ODI World Cup 2023. Chasing a mere 200 runs, the Men in Blue were in tatters after losing three wickets for two runs. Not to forget, Kohli’s catch was dropped and it proved to be a costly affair. He played an innings of 85 and helped the team reach a winning position.
Even though the right-hander missed a hundred, the team managed to win comfortably in the end, with KL Rahul getting 97 not out. Meanwhile, after the six-wicket win, the team had a session with the head coach Rahul Dravid. During the session, they decided to give out a medal for best fielding. The former India skipper was rewarded with the medal

The way Virat Kohli and KL Rahul stuck was important: Rohit Sharma
The India skipper was happy with the match-winning knocks from Kohli and Rahul.
“Hats off to Virat and KL – the way they stuck out there to create a match-winning partnership,” Rohit Sharma said in the post-match presentation.
On the other hand, the Australia skipper spoke about the impact of Kohli’s drop by Mitchell Marsh. Cummins said that he has forgotten about the drop. However, he admitted that Kohli’s wicket would have made a difference in a difficult run-chase for the two-time winners
“I’ve already forgotten about it! Not ideal, especially for his calibre. Four down for 10 would’ve been amazing but wasn’t to be,” Pat Cummins said.
