WATCH: Shahid Afridi picks knife ‘for Gautam Gambhir’ during TV show
Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi might get into a controversy as a video of him is going viral. In the video, a TV show host asked him to pick an object for former India opener Gautam Gambhir. The T20 World Cup 2009 winner picked a knife. When the host asked for a reason, Afridi said that he ‘might want to cut Gambhir’s tongue’.
Apparently, both Gambhir and Afridi have had a history together. During an ODI game in Kanpur in 2007, both had a heated fight. India won the game despite former skipper Salman Butt scoring a ton. Since then, Afridi and Gambhir haven’t spoken to each other and neither spoken high for each other as well.

Shahid Afridi praises Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, and Shaheen Afridi
In what was a rain-impacted game between India and Pakistan in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023, the Men In Blue got to almost bat out the entire innings. In the game, they won the toss and elected to bat first. The former Asia Cup winners had a poor start as they lost four wickets for 66 runs including Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, and Shubman Gill.
The first two wickets were taken by Shaheen Afridi, who also happens to be his son-in-law. The next two were taken by Haris Rauf. However, the likes of Kishan and Pandya put together 138 runs for the fifth wicket, a record against Pakistan. They helped the team reach 266 runs as both scored 80-plus each. After the first innings, Shahid praised Shaheen, Ishan, and Hardik. The game ended as no-result as Pakistan couldn’t bat due to rain.
“Impressive start by Pakistan’s fast bowlers, securing early wickets. Kudos to Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya for their tenacious partnership but the brilliant showcase of mettle by the pacers, limiting India to 266. Now, it’s up to our batsmen to display their artistry!,:” Afridi wrote on Twitter.
