Sarfaraz Khan’s dismissal in the first innings of the third Test against England did not go well with Rohit Sharma. The Indian skipper was visibly angry as he threw his cap seeing the unfortunate dismissal of the debutant. A miscommunication in the middle between Ravindra Jadeja and the young batter led to the runout, which was not pleasing to see. 

Sarfaraz batted well on his debut against England. The right-handed batter swept the spinners well and showed brilliant application in the middle. He played some lovely backfoot drives and targeted the leg-side region. The bowlers seemed to be without plans when he was in the middle. The aggressive nature of Khan was on full display as he got to his maiden fifty in a quick time.

The middle-order batter scored 62 runs in 66 balls before suffering the unfortunate dismissal. In his stay in the middle, Khan hit nine boundaries and a big six. He scored his fifty in just 47 balls and threatened to take the game away from the visiting side. Sarfaraz was one of the main reasons behind India’s comeback at Rajkot despite not getting the greatest of starts. 

Rohit Sharma frustrated with Sarfaraz Khan’s dismissal

Jadeja faced James Anderson when the incident happened. The Southpaw hit the ball towards the mid-on region. While Khan was interested in getting a run, Jadeja initially called for the run but refused midway, seeing the fielder closing in. Sarfaraz had run a lot towards the pitch and could not make it back to the crease. Mark Wood wasted no time as he hit a brilliant direct hit. 

The 26-year-old was visibly disappointed with the dismissal. Without any option left, he made a return to the dressing room with a heavy heart. In the Indian dressing room, Rohit was angry with the dismissal. A frustrated Indian skipper threw the cap in disbelief expressing his disappointment for the youngster. Sarfaraz’s parents who were in the stadium, were not happy with the way their son got out on debut.
