Former India skipper MS Dhoni and his jersey number seven have been synonymous among them. Over the years, he has been wearing the number seven whenever he plays. During his days with the India Cricket Team, Dhoni doomed the same number. The wicketkeeper follows the same while playing for his IPL team, Chennai Super Kings. The three-time World Event-winning captain retired from international cricket in August 2020.

However, he continues to play in the cash-rich and led the team to two more titles in 2021 and 2023. Overall, under his captain, the team won five times (2010,2011, 2018, 2021, and 2023). Meanwhile, in the recent past, there has been a trend of fans making jokes on ‘Thala For a Reason’ over everything related to number seven and Dhoni. During an interview, the Ranchi player was asked about the reason why he wears the number seven on his back.

“Why was 7 important to you? Was this the time that your parent wanted you to come home by?” the anchor asked Dhoni.

That’s the time or day my parents decided I would come on earth: MS Dhoni

In reply, the five-time IPLwinning captain gave a cheeky statement which left the fans in splits.

“No. That is the time or day my parents decided I will come on earth. I was born on the 7th Of July. So July again the seventh month. 81 was the year so 8-1 is 7. So it was very easy for me to just go out there when they ask me ‘what number do you want’,” the former India skipper replied leaving everyone in splits.
