There was a big reason why were the fans waiting for the clash between India and Afghanistan in the ODI World Cup 2023. We won’t leave you guessing what was the reason as it is the rivalry between former Indian captain Virat Kohli and Afghanistan speedster Naveen-ul-Haq. Both were involved in a heated argument earlier this year during IPL 2023.

As expected, a video is getting viral on social media in which the Delhi crowd erupted with chanting ‘Kohli, Kohli’ chants when Naveen stepped up to the crease during the contest which is being played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on October 11. While the name ‘Kohli’ is synonymous with Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli, this unusual chant reflected the immense love and respect fans have for the former Indian captain.

Brilliant bowling performance by Jaspirt Bumrah

The electrifying atmosphere in the stadium was truly something to behold. As Naveen faced the first ball of his innings, thousands of spectators came together to chant ‘Kohli, Kohli’ in unison, filling the air with excitement and energy. It might be a great moment for the India star but that’s not the case with Naveen who has been getting trolled for a long time now due to his verbal spat with Kohli.

The ‘Kohli, Kohli’ chants were however, expected as the match was being played at Kohli’s home ground and it was expected that he would surely get massive support from the crowd. Talking about the match, Afghanistan won the toss and elected to bat first. They put up a total of 272 in the first innings with the help of brilliant half-centuries from Hashmatullah Shahidi and Azmatullah Omarzai. Jasprit Bumrah bowled brilliantly for India as he picked up 4 wickets and conceded only 39 runs in his 10 overs quota.
