WATCH: David Warner does ‘Pushpa’ celebration after magnificent century in ODI World Cup 2023 clash against Pakistan
The Australian openers, David Warner and Mitchell Marsh showcased their dominance over Pakistan’s bowlers, leaving cricket fans in awe in the 18th match of the ODI World Cup 2023 in Bengaluru on Friday, October 20. Winning the toss and opting to bowl first, Pakistan had high hopes of putting early pressure on the Australian batting lineup. However, Warner and Marsh had other plans.
Warner, the dynamic left-handed opener, was in sublime form, slamming his 21st ODI century in just 85 balls. His exceptional batting skills left the Pakistan bowlers struggling to contain him, and they paid the price for an early drop catch by Usama Mir. However, the crowd at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium went crazy when Warner decided to celebrate his century in ‘Pushpa’ style.

Brilliant performance by the Australian openers
Joining the century club alongside Warner was Marsh, who crafted his second ODI hundred with remarkable finesse. It took him 100 balls to reach this milestone, and his partnership with Warner added to Pakistan’s bowling woes. The duo’s incredible performance showcased their formidable partnership and set a formidable target for Pakistan to chase.
As the match progressed, Australia’s strong start certainly placed them in a commanding position, and Pakistan had their work cut out for them in the pursuit of victory. Warner and Marsh’s 259-run stand finally came to an end in the 34th over when Pakistan star pacer Shaheen Afridi sent Marsh back to the pavilion.
Returning to Warner, this isn’t the initial instance when the left-handed cricketer has executed a ‘Pushpa’ celebration. On a previous occasion, during a World Cup match held in Hyderabad, Warner was observed dancing on the cricket field to a tune from the film Pushpa: The Rise, which features the Telugu Superstar Allu Arjun. Warner has additionally created numerous videos where he emulates the movie’s songs and certain dialogues, and the actor himself has openly praised the Australian star on multiple occasions.
