‘Test Ahmedabad me hua tha kya’ – Fans react as Shubman Gill completes Yo-Yo test with highest score among Indian players
Ahead of the upcoming Asia Cup, the Indian team management has started preparations in Alur. In a five-day camp near Bengaluru, Indian players took a fitness test and completed the important Yo-Yo test. The test scores of former India skipper Virat Kohli and batter Shubman Gill sparked buzz on social media.
Kohli, who is one of the fittest players in the Indian team setup, passed the test with a score of 17.2. Meanwhile, Gill passed the test with the highest score among the present players. He passed the test with a whopping score of 18.7. According to the latest update, almost every Indian player scored between 16.5 and 18.
According to a board source quoted by the Press Trust of India, Gill has been phenomenal during the Yo-Yo Test. Because the yo-yo test is an aerobic endurance fitness test, the results could vary depending on when you last played and how much workload you have gone through in the past week. Gill, as of now, has the highest score of 18.7. Most of the players have scored between 16.5 and 18″, says the source.
Few players have yet to take the fitness test at NCA.
According to reports, a few players who are part of the Asia Cup squad have yet to take fitness tests. Jasprit Bumrah, Tilak Verma, Prasidh Krishna, and Sanju Samson will give fitness tests after arriving from Ireland. Meanwhile, KL Rahul, who is suffering from a niggle, will be given an exception.
It’s worth noting that India organised a six-hour practice session in Alur on Friday. Indian batters batted in pairs, starting with skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. After that, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer took the charge, which has lately been overtaken by all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya. It’s worth noting that Kohli had a special batting session with spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Sai Kishore.
Here is how fans reacted to Shubman Gill’s Yo-Yo test score:
India's openers aced the YoYo test. Surprised how Hardik Pandya's fitness already going down when he is not even 30 yet.
