Pankaj Tripathi’s ‘Main Atal Hoon’ receives mixed opinions

Main Atal Hoon has received mixed opinions from the fans and the critics who have watched it. Many who watched it claim it to be oversimplified for the sake of the general audience, which was necessary considering the legacy of the legendary person was with several aspects of life and with different kinds of people living in different regions of India.

The movie is an honest effort to give tribute to the former Indian Prime minister, Sri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who was India’s 10th PM. “Apni aadhi aankhen band karke, jab woh puri baat bolte the, toh saat samandar paar har koi sunta tha,” – It was one of the lines from the movie. Sri Atal was one such personality who deserved a biopic to be made on him.

The movie is directed by Ravi Jadhav, a national award-winning director. it covers several aspects of the life of Atal Ji like his freedom struggles, involvement with the RSS, struggles during the period of National Emergency, The formation of the BJP, Role in the Pokhran Tests, Role in the Kargil war, his personal life, role as the PM of the country, role as an editor of a newspaper and so on.

Critics praise Pankaj Tripathi’s performance

While some have expressed that the movie could have focused more on his political life, others claimed that the movie was on the slower side in terms of the Screenplay. The movie needed a stellar actor to pull off the role of Atal ji. It was only fitting that Pankaj Tripathi was chosen to play his role, he seemed to have nailed it in the unique role.

There has been an opinion that Pankaj has not tried to mimic Atal ji. It is being said that the stellar actor gave a memorable performance and justified the role of Atal ji. His mannerisms, conviction to play the role, the dialogue delivery, the hold on Hindi, appearance, expressions, and everything else are being praised by the critics, who feel that he stole the show in the movie.
