Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has been winning hearts for his warm gesture towards the Indian cricket team. The 73-year-old was seen consoling the men in blue after their 6-wicket loss to Australia in the ODI World Cup 2023 final on Sunday.

One former disgruntled cricketer turned politician though is crying foul over the move. Kirti Azad who has played a handful of games for the national side didn’t like the idea of the Indian PM consoling and spending time with the players.

The former Indian cricketer-turned-politician’s tweet didn’t go down well once it was posted. Many of the netizens have come out and attacked Kirti Azad over the language that was used towards the Indian PM.

64-year-old former Indian cricketer turned politician has courted controversy on Tuesday. Kirti Azad had used distasteful language on Twitter towards the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to meet the Indian Cricket Team.

The reason for this is that the Honorable Indian PM had visited the Indian dressing room to console the Indian player. The 73-year-old could be seen talking to Rohit Sharma the skipper and Virat Kohli.

Mohammed Shami was then given a tight hug and pats on the back after the Indian seamers lion-hearted performances with the ball. The 33-year-old Indian bowler was visibly in tears after the loss to Australia on Sunday in the final.

It was reported that the entire Indian team has been invited to New Delhi on an invite from the Indian PM. Kirti Azad who happens to be the MP of India’s opposition party took to Twitter and had his say.

The 64-year-old wrote “The dressing room is the sanctum sanctorum of any team. Apex Cricket Body does not allow anybody to enter these rooms apart from the players and the support staff. PM of India should have met the team outside the dressing room in the private visitors area”

The former cricketer also wrote “I say this as a #sportsman and not #politician. Would @narendramodi allow his supporters to come and console or congratulate him in his bedroom, dressing room, or the toilet? #Sportspersons are far more disciplined than #politicians”
