The Indian cricket team was recently humbled by West Indies in the 5-match T20I series by 3-2 which raised questions on the captaincy skills of star allrounder Hardik Pandya who was leading the side in India’s regular captain Rohit Sharma. However, the Indian team is now on a 3-match T20I series tour of Ireland where the side is being led by star pacer Jasprit Bumrah who has made his comeback after almost a year.

The Men in Blue have already won the first match of the series. Meanwhile, it is being reported that the Indian team management is set to appoint Bumrah as India’s vice-captain for the upcoming Asia Cup. The selection committee led by Ajit Agarkar will organise a meeting on Monday, August 21 where India’s head coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit will also present. Many fans have reacted to the reports and supported the unconfirmed decision while they also trolled Pandya who is also one of the contenders to become the vice-captain.

I feel Bumrah’s rhythm is good: Aakash Chopra

Bumrah displayed a tremendous bowling effort in the first T20I where he picked 2 wickets in the very first over of the match. Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra said that he is not worried about Bumrah’s pace at this time. He believes that it will take him a little time to find his rhythm back and then he’d be able to bowl at 140-145 KPH.

“There was a question that Jasprit Bumrah is not bowling at 140-145 kph. There was one ball that went over 140 and the rest were in the 130s. Is he supremely fit or not? Is he back for good? I am not worried, I am not bothered. I feel the rhythm is good and speed is something that can build later.” Chopra was quoted as saying by Sportskeeda.

“There are two sides to it. When you play in swinging conditions, it is advisable that you bring your pace down slightly, don’t bowl at your 100 percent, don’t go above 80 per cent. Assuming your maximum pace is 140 kph, if you want to swing the ball, then be around 132-133 kph.” he added.

Nepal Premier League Final

Nepal Premier League Final! Janakpur Bolts clinched the inaugural Nepal Premier League title by defeating Sudurpaschim Royals in a thrilling final. The Bolts showcased remarkable resilience, chasing down a target of 187 runs with five wickets in hand at the TU International Cricket Ground.

Sudurpaschim Royals, batting first, set a competitive total of 184 for nine wickets, led by Saif Zaib and Binod Bhandari. Zaib scored a solid 69 runs, while Bhandari added a crucial 41. However, their middle order failed to capitalize on a strong start, succumbing to disciplined bowling from Janakpur’s attack.

Kishor Mahato and Mohammad Mohisin starred with the ball for Janakpur, each claiming three wickets. Lalit Rajbanshi bowled an exceptional spell, conceding just 15 runs, including a maiden over. Their efforts restricted Sudurpaschim from posting a more imposing total.

His innings anchored the chase, despite early pressure from Sudurpaschim’s bowlers. Aasif Sheikh, the Janakpur captain, played a vital supporting role, ensuring a composed finish.
