The 5th match of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 is being played between India and Australia at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday, October 8. Australia batted first after winning the toss but failed to put up a decent total on the scoreboard as they were bundled out by the Indian bowlers for just 199 runs.

Meanwhile, in a surprising turn of events during the match, cricket fans were shocked as they witnessed two Indian spectators proudly sporting Australia jerseys. The sight of these two fans, donning the rival team’s colours, sent shockwaves through the crowd, sparking conversations and curiosity.

Fans on social media took notice of this and started making speculations about the reason why these fans were wearing the Australian jersey. Some fans said that they wanted to buy a Chennai Super Kings (CSK) jersey but mistakenly bought the Australian jersey as both of them are yellow colour.

Brilliant bowling performance by India

Talking about the first innings, the Kangaroos were too slow throughout the innings as there were only 2 six smashed by the Australian batters and that too were hit by Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc. Australia were given an early setback by Jasprit Bumrah in the 3rd over. However, later, Steve Smith and David Warner steadied the ship.

But just when it looked like both batters were settled, it was Kuldeep Yadav who provided the much-needed breakthrough by dismissing David Warner on 41 runs. And then it was India’s star allrounder Ravindra Jadeja who dismantled Australia’s middle-order by dismissing Smith, Marnus Labuschagne and Alex Carey.

However, the Australian lower-order hung out to push the score to 199. Mitchell Starc scored useful 28 runs which might prove crucial for them to defend the small total. It’d be interesting how will the Indian batters perform against the lethal bowling lineup of Australia.
