The legendary India batter MS Dhoni is gearing up to play for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the forthcoming 2024 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Recently, the star batter has commenced his training. Moreover, in a latest development he was spotted batting in the nets, the 42-year-old, who led CSK to their fifth IPL title last year, is expected to retire from the IPL after this season. For his farewell campaign, Dhoni is retaining his iconic long hairstyle.

In the year 2004-05, the former India wicket keeper batter gained fame for his long hair when he made his debut, and now, two decades later, he’s revisiting that iconic look. Additionally, in the upcoming 2024 IPL season, Dhoni will be endorsing a new bat sponsor. A viral image shows Dhoni wielding a bat adorned with the Prime Sports sticker.

For those unfamiliar, Prime Sports is a sporting goods store in Ranchi, owned by Dhoni’s childhood friend Paramjit Singh, also known as Chotu Bhaiya. During Dhoni’s formative cricketing years, Paramjit played a significant role in securing Dhoni’s first bat sponsorship. The 2016 film MS Dhoni: The Untold Story vividly portrayed Paramjit’s influence on Dhoni’s career. In what may be Dhoni’s final IPL season, he’s endorsing Paramjit’s store.

MS Dhoni is the best captain: Mohammed Shami

The premier India fast bowler Mohammed Shami has etched his name in cricket history, demonstrating remarkable consistency across formats for over a decade. His prowess extends beyond international cricket, as he has excelled in the competitive arena of the IPL. Shami has had the privilege of playing under distinguished captains, starting with MS Dhoni, under whom he made his debut. He flourished further during Virat Kohli’s leadership but reached new heights under Rohit Sharma’s guidance in recent times.

“Look, it is different for everyone. These things start with comparisons, but you will say the one that has been most successful. So, for me, it is MS Dhoni because no one has been as successful as him,” Shami said on News18.
