“Kisi ke jane se kisi ko fark nahi padta. Kyuki team ka balance dekha jaata hai. Hardik Pandya raha hai, Hardik Pandya acchi captaincy kiya hai. Dono baar final khele hai. Kal Shubman bhi kayi chala jaa sakta hai – Mohammed Shami

“Gujarat ne Hardik ko live pad pe rakha nahi wo uska decision hai – usko jaana hai ki nahi jaana hai,” added Shami. The 33-year-old then spoke about Shubamn Gill who was appointed the new skipper of GT for IPL 2024. Shami felt that Gill is new to the role and would become experienced with time. He put forth a situation and claimed that Gill might have to make his decision in future.

Shami felt that there might be chances of Gill leaving GT in future. He felt that things like it are a part and parcel of the game dynamics. “Phir Shubman ka hai. Shubman abhi naya hai. Wo khelte khelte experienced ho jaayega. Kal wo bhi kayi chala jaa sakta hai. Toh ye part of the game hai,” said Shami when asked about his opinion on change in leadership.
