‘Mauke pe chauka maar diya’ – Fans react as Marnus Labuschagne smashes magnificent century in 2nd ODI against South Africa

Australia and South Africa are clashing against each other in the 2nd match of the 5-match ODI series on Saturday, September 9 at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein. Australia have already won the 1st match of the series with the help of a brilliant batting performance by Marnus Labuschagne who came to bat as a concussion.

Meanwhile, Labuschagne continued his brilliant batting performance and smashed the 2nd ODI hundred of his career at the Mangaung Oval. Labuschagne played a 124-run knock off just 99 deliveries which included 19 fours and 1 six. This knock can help the right-handed batter to get a place in Australia’s squad for the upcoming ODI World Cup.

Talking about the match, South Africa won the toss and opted to bowl first but little did they know that their decision would backfire horribly as the Australian openers David Warner and Travis Head a destructive 109-run stand for the first wicket and crossed the 100-run mark inside the powerplay already.

Brilliant batting performance by the Australian team

Head departed in the 12th over on the score of 64 runs which came off just 36 balls, including 9 fours and 3 sixes. Skipper Mitchell Marsh couldn’t do much and was dismissed in the very next ball on a golden duck. And then Labuschagne joined Warner at no. 3, and both stitched a massive 151-run partnership for the 3rd wicket.

The left-handed veteran batter also smashed a brilliant century and set a foundation for a big total. Later, Labuschagne and wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis batted aggressively and helped the Australian to achieve a monumental total of 392 runs in the 50 overs after losing 8 wickets.

Tabraiz Shamsi was the star bowler for the South African team as he picked up 4 wickets in his 10-over quota while conceding 61 runs. Kagiso Rabada also managed to get 2 wickets in 9 overs but he was quite expensive as he conceded 79 runs.
