‘Abe fans ko kab milengi tickets’ – Fans react as Sachin Tendulkar presented with Golden Ticket for ODI World Cup 2023 by Jai Shah

The ODI World Cup 2023 is to take place in India from the 5th of October. For this, the Indian Cricket Board has taken a special initiative. The board has planned to give special tickets to the icons of India. It has been named ‘Golden Ticket for India Icons’. Under this, the first golden ticket was given to Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan. 

And now, the former legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has also been given this ticket. The ticket was presented to Tendulkar by the Indian Cricket Board president Jai Shah. The image is going viral on social media and Tendulkar has also thanked the Indian Cricket Board for getting honoured.

“From serving in the 1987 World Cup as a ball boy to competing in six World Cups from 1992 to 2011, and now receiving this golden ticket in 2023 – it has indeed been a journey woven from dreams and the excitement within me remains undiminished.” Tendulkar tweeted.

Great initiative by the Indian Cricket Board

The Indian Cricket Board had earlier given the golden ticket to Amitabh Bachchan as well. World Cup 2023 will be organised in India. Its first match will be played between the 2019 World Cup finalists England and New Zealand on 5 October. Team India’s first match is against Australia which will be held in Chennai on 8th October. 

At the same time, the match between the arch-rivals India and Pakistan will be played in Ahmedabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium on 14 October. The final match of the tournament will be played on 19 November. India’s squad has already been announced for the major tournament where multiple surprising inclusions took place.
