After the much-awaited clash between the arch-rivals India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023 was washed out due to rain, the Men in Blue displayed a dominant performance against Nepal as they defeated them by 10 wickets and qualified for the Super 4 stage. They will now face Pakistan on September 10 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. It’d be India’s first Super 4 clash while Pakistan’s second.

Meanwhile, the contest is set to have a reserve day as the Asian Cricket Council don’t want the fans missing the entertainment if the rain plays as a spoilsport. However, it will be the only Super 4 clash which will have a reserve day as there is no other Super 4 contest which will have a reserve day. Fans have reacted to it and expressed their disappointment in having reserve day for only 1 match.

The 11th of September will be reserved for India vs Pakistan, as we all want to witness this fortress of a game. The tournament is getting co-hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka, however, the matches which were to be played in Pakistan are finished and now all the matches will be played in Sri Lanka only.

The Pakistan Cricket Board took very good care of us: Roger Binny

Earlier, Pakistan were supposed to host the entire tournament but the Indian Cricket Board refused to send their players to Pakistan due to security reasons. After this, Sri Lanka became the co-host of the tournament. Many fans were disappointed after seeing the weather conditions in Sri Lanka as almost every match is affected by rain.

Recently, Indian Cricket Board’s president Roger Binny and vice-president Rajeev Shukla attended a match of the Asia Cup in Pakistan. Binny revealed that they were treated really well in Pakistan.

“The meeting was very good. The Pakistan Cricket Board took very good care of us. The security was tremendous, all the arrangements were fabulous. It was a goodwill visit for cricket which went well.” Binny was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
