MI Cape Town (NICT) overcame Joburg Super Kings (JSK) by a huge margin of 98 runs in the SA20 2024. The match between the two sides turned out to be rather one-sided. The domination of MICT was written on cards when the opening duo of MICT was not dismissed by JSK. The game was done and dusted in the first 15 overs of the innings, where the batters of MICT scored 198 runs.

Ryan Rickleton and Rassie Van Der Dussen were brilliant in the middle. The duo posted 200 runs for the first wicket. Van Der Dussen was sensational as he notched up a hundred. On the other hand, Ryan missed the second hundred of the season. Rassie scored 104 runs in 50 balls which included 9 fours and 6 sixes. Rickleton scored 98(49) which included 6 fours and 8 sixes.

All the bowlers were expensive for JSK. Nandre Burger managed to claim 2 wickets as a consolation. In their 50 overs, MICT managed to post a mammoth total of 243 runs. Chasing the target, JSK fell like a pack of cards. In no time, they were reduced to 29/3. No batter could play a big knock which was essential in a big run chase. It cost JSK the game.

MICT bowlers collectively bowl well

George Linde with the new ball was amazing. He got the wickets of Faf Du Plessis and Lizaad Williams. At the other end, Reeza Hendricks got run out. Herrmann was undone by Kagiso Rabada. Du Plooy seemed to be the only batter who seemed to take the game away from MICT. In his stay in the middle, the no.4 scored 48 runs in 24 balls which included 6 fours and 2 sixes.

Towards the end, Romario Shepherd tried his bit to win the game for JSK. But it came a bit too late. Barring Liam Livingstone and Sam Curran who had an off game with the ball, other bowlers managed to bowl economical spells and claimed wickets at the same time. It meant that there was no rescuing of a sinking ship like JSK. They did not just turn up in any department of the game.
