Jasprit Bumrah with his wife Sanjana Ganesan

Popular sports broadcaster and Indian cricketer Jasprit Bumrah’s wife Sanjana Ganesan is receiving massive praise from fans for nailing a perfect ‘yorker’ to a social media user for body shaming her. The star couple got married in 2021 and had their first child named Angad in September 2023. While Bumrah continues to play for Team India, Ganesan reportedly took a break after becoming a mother.

The elite pacer is currently a part of the Indian Test team that is playing a five-match series against England. The series is now tied 1-1 after the hosts secured a resounding win in Visakhapatnam, with Bumrah playing a key role. The players got a short break ahead of the third Test in Rajkot and the 30-year-old took advantage of it by spending some time with his family.

Meanwhile, the couple shared a video on their Instagram account in collaboration with popular beauty brand L’Oréal to mark Valentine’s Day. “When Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, all you want to do is spend some quality time with bae and pamper each other.. & yes, we are that couple,” reads the introductory part of the video’s caption.

The post received a lot of positive comments about their lovely relationship, but one user decided to cross the line with a body-shaming comment towards the cricketer’s wife. “Bhabhi moti lg rhi hai” (Sister-in-law is looking fat),” the comment read.

Ganesan, however, decided not to sit quietly as she hit back at the user with a befitting reply.”School ki science textbook toh yaad hoti nahi hai tumse, bada auraton ke bodies ke baare mein comment kar raho ho. Bhaago yaha se (You can’t even remember school science textbooks, how dare you comment on women’s bodies. Run away),” was her stern reply.

Bumrah’s fiery spell dismantles ‘bazball’ in Vizag Test

Imagine a batter who scored a double century in an innings not winning Player of the Match. It is impossible without Jasprit Bumrah in the same XI. When the rest of the batters struggled to find runs, youngster Yashaswi Jaiswal led the Indian batting unit in the first innings with his maiden double hundred. But Bumrah’s six-wicket haul in the first innings and three-for in the second innings was nothing short of a match-winning spell.

Following India’s 106-run win in the second Test, former South Africa pacer Dale Steyn praised the Indian right-arm seamer for producing heroics on a surface that did not offer much for fast bowlers.

“To take wickets in Test matches, there are probably a handful of guys who could do that. Trent Boult was one of that, Mitchell Starc maybe. And obviously, Bumrah. All round he’s a fantastic bowler. And it’s no surprise with his skiddy kind of action that he’s got that. He takes wickets on those docile pitches, so he’s fantastic,” Steyn said.

Here’s how fans reacted to Sanjana Ganesan’s epic response against body shaming:
