‘Kya bowling karega re tu’ – Fans troll Shaheen Afridi for defending Haris Rauf after losing third T20I to New Zealand

New Zealand opener Finn Allen’s 137-run knock helped New Zealand post 224 runs on the board for the loss of 7 wickets. That was enough as Pakistan could only score 179 during the chase to lose by 45 runs. This meant that Shaheen Shah Afridi lost his very first T20I series as the Pakistan skipper.

Haris Rauf has been criticized over the last few months over his bowling economy rate. On Wednesday, Rauf conceded 60 runs from four overs while picking two wickets. His two wickets were that of Devon Conway and Mark Chapman.

Pakistan skipper Shaheen Afridi seemed to defend the 30-year-old at the end of the game. The 23-year-old also spoke about Babar Azam who scored yet another half-century. This was the third successive fifty for the Pakistani former skipper.

After losing the match and series in Dunedin, skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi seemed to look at the positives. When he was asked about the bowling form of Haris Rauf, Afridi replied “Haris Rauf is our best T20 bowler. When we win you rate him as the best. When he we lose he is the problem. Matt Henry also conceded 50+ runs, it happens”

Pakistan won the toss and chose to bowl first yet again. Haris Rauf got the first wicket when Conway was out for 7 caught by Mohammed Nawaz. Finn Allen and Tim Seifert then took the bowling apart adding 125 runs for the second wicket.

Young batter Finn Allen showed no mercy as he smashed each and every Pakistani bowler out of the park. The 137-run knock was his best in T20I Cricket and his second century in this format.

After being set a target of 225 to win, Pakistan lost Saim Ayub for 10 and Mohammed Rizwan for 24. Babar Azam was the only man to put up a fight with 58 runs from 37 balls. Mohammed Nawaz tried to put up resistance but the task was too much for Pakistan.

I had said earlier as well that Babar was not out of form. We cannot judge him based on a few innings. He has played three fine innings in three matches in the series. He could not finish the matches in our favor” Afridi ended the chat by saying this about Babar Azam.
