Team India is currently hosting England for a 5-match Test series. The 1st Test has started, with the Men in Blue leading by 190 runs scoring 436 runs in reply to England’s 246. Three batters Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja scored in the 80s as all three batters failed to reach the triple-figure mark. But Shubman Gill after getting set in the crease failed to score a fifty as the Punjab-born batter is struggling with form in the longest format of the game.

Gill scored 23 off 66 balls he was looking confident but could not turn his score into a big one and got out, KL Rahul who was standing at the other end while his dismissal took place dropped his opinion about the star batter. He believes is a top-class cricketer who can play spin well and said that this is something that can happen to any batter. The 24-year-old batter is also batting in a new batting position as well.

Rahul himself missed out on a hundred scoring 86 runs and looked in fine touch batting at No.4 and looked in fine touch and did not let the absence of Virat Kohli feel a little. He has been in fine form since his return from injury.

He (Gill) is a top-class cricketer: KL Rahul

Rahul said on Jio Cinema, “He (Gill) is a top-class cricketer. He does play spin really, really well. We’ve seen that in white-ball cricket. It’s about time that, he learnt from it. I mean, you know, I’m sure he didn’t want to get himself into a situation where he had to go over the top or had to had to play a shot just to break free. But yeah, that happens to all batters. And I’m sure he’s already there thinking about what he’ll do in the next one.”

Jadeja was the highest scorer with 87 runs and was out with a controversial LBW decision as there was no clarity on whether the ball first touched the pad or the bat.
