KL Rahul has stepped into the first year of his marriage with Athiya Shetty. The duo married each other on the 23rd of January in 2023 after being in a relationship for a long time. To celebrate their first wedding anniversary, Rahul posted a reel of the two with each other by taking to social media. The heartwarming wish of Rahul went viral on social media as soon as KL posted it.

The star player took it to Instagram and posted a video which was all about the togetherness of the couple. In the reel, the LSG captain wrote “Finding you was like coming home.” Athiya Shetty is a Bollywood actress who has been working in the industry for some time now. She is the daughter of the famous Bollywood actor, Suneil Shetty, who has made a name for himself.

The roots of all three come from Mangalore, a coastal part of Karnataka. All of them share a good bond. There are instances where Suneil has made it to the stadium to watch Rahul play. Likewise, Athiya is always seen in the stadium whenever KL plays for his IPL side and India. She has always stood like a backbone for Rahul no matter what.

KL Rahul to play as a specialist batter against England

Rahul did not have a good time in the final of the ODI WC 2023, where India lost to Australia. Soon after that, Rahul answered his critics by playing a great knock at Centurion to help India come out of a difficult situation in the Test match. It is worth noting that Rahul played in both the Test matches against South Africa as a wicketkeeper batter.

The management seemed to trust the WK skills of Rahul against the pace and bounce. However, things seem to be different when India takes on England at home. Given the difference in keeping against pace vs spin, the management has decided to play Rahul as a specialist batter. Either KS Bharat or Dhruv Jurel are likely to keep the wickets for India.
