India’s opening batter Shubman Gill has been reportedly ruled out against Afghanistan. The Men In Blue will play their second ODI World Cup 2023 game on October 11. Gill, who tested positive for Dengue on October 6. Ahead of the game against Australia, India head coach Rahul Dravid was optimistic before the game against Australia.

“He’s feeling better today and the medical team is monitoring him on a day-to-day basis. We will take a call on him later. The medical team hasn’t ruled him out yet. We’ll see how he feels the day after tomorrow.” Dravid was quoted as saying by Cricket Addictor.

Ishan Kishan opened the batting against Australia but bagged a golden duck. Meanwhile, the sources say that the right-hander, Gill will travel with the team in Delhi

A source told ANI, “Subhman Gill is recovering and he will be travelling with the team to Delhi, he will be with the team and is not likely to go to his home Chandigarh for rest we hope that he will be back on the field before the match against Pakistan and playing against Afghanistan will depend on his next report.”
