Indian Cricket Board announced the squad for India A’s warm-up and practice games against England Lions in 2024. The squad revealed by the Indian board has some of the players who are well-known to the fans across the country. Many of them have been a part of the IPL franchises. Some of them have already made their debut for the Indian team.

Abhimanyu Easwaran is set to lead India in the two matches which are set to happen before the start of the Test series. Some players have got a chance to represent India A for the first time. Most of them have good numbers in FC cricket. It has been a reward for the players who performed well over the years in domestic cricket. It would be a good opportunity for the players to showcase their skills.

There are some talented players in the squad who have performed well in recent times like Sai Sudarshan, Rajat Patidar, Pradosh Ranjan Paul, Manav Sutar, Pulkit Narang and many others. Along with them, some other players who have performed well over the year for India A have also been included in the squad. For instance, KS Bharat, Sarfaraz Khan, and Navdeep Saini are in the squad.

Focus on England’s tour of India

With the conclusion of India’s tour of SA, the players have already returned home. The focus currently is on the Test series against England. The series will begin on the 25th of January when India will be taking on England at Uppal Stadium in Hyderabad. England had already named their squad for the series a month ago, which was a positive move from the visiting side.

It will be interesting to see how the pace bowlers will perform in the series against the England Lions. The squad has some quality pacers like Navdeep Saini, Vidwath Kaverappa, Tushar Deshpande, and Akash Deep. 2024 will be a year of Test cricket for India. Hence, it would be important for the Asian side to get the bowlers prepared for the big series against Australia.
