Indian coach Rahul Dravid reacts to Ravindra Jadeja’s injury after Hyderabad Test

Rahul Dravid has reacted to the injury of Ravindra Jadeja. The Indian Head coach claimed that he is yet to speak with Jadeja regarding the same. Dravid was asked about the hamstring niggle suffered by the star All-Rounder in the 2nd innings of the 1st Test at Hyderabad. After the loss, the Indian coach was in the press conference, where he revealed about the injury.

Jadeja made a diving effort in the 2nd innings while batting in order to save himself from a potential run out. Unfortunately, the efforts of Jadeja went in vain as Ben Stokes put in an incredible effort and was successful in getting rid of Jadeja. The Head coach of India said that he has not spoken with the physio yet. Dravid claimed that he would talk with the physio and Jadeja after getting back (To the dressing room).

“We’ll see. I honestly haven’t had a chance to speak to the physio as yet. Once I get back, I’ll speak to him and see what it is about,” said Dravid. The Indian coach then spoke about India’s loss in the 1st Test. Rahul felt that not getting a big hundred in the 1st innings cost them a lot of runs. Dravid was of the opinion that India missed about 70-80 runs in the process.

“We didn’t get a hundred, you know, we didn’t get somebody getting a really big hundred for us. So, in some ways, in India, I just felt we left those 70, 80 runs back in the hut in the first innings,” said the Indian coach. The former India batter added that 2nd innings is challenging by default and felt that chasing 230 was not easy given the rarity of the occurrences.

“Second innings is always going to be challenging. It’s one of those things that, you know, it’s tough. It’s not easy to chase 230 or it’s not done very often,” added Dravid. India will be up against England in the 2nd Test at Vizag. The home side would be looking forward for the match in order to make a comeback in the series.
