‘India me 140 ki speed wale bowlers bhi hain kya’ – Fans react as Rishabh Pant reportedly started facing 140 kmph deliveries in nets
Indian cricket team’s young wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is currently recovering from the injuries he sustained last year in December during a horrific car accident. It was reported by the officials that it would take at least 18 months to get fully recovered and make his comeback on the field.
But Pant showed great discipline and dedication in his treatment, due to which he has already started practising in the nets and the hopes of him making his comeback are also increased. A source from the National Cricket Academy (NCA) has revealed that Pant has now started facing deliveries which are clocking up to 140 KPH and also keeping well.
“Rishabh has been making a fine recovery. He has started to take on deliveries with a speed excess to 140 kmph. We all are delighted with the way he has been crossing every hurdle in his recovery. He is keeping well. His next target will be to focus on larger and quicker body movements, which we aim to achieve in the next couple of months,” an NCA source was quoted as saying by Crictracker.
Will KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer be able to recover before Asia Cup?
Apart from him KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer are also full fitness before the two major events Asia Cup and ODI World Cup 2023. Both of them will also fight for their spot in the ODI squad as a middle-order batter. Iyer’s record has been brilliant in the 50-over format, Rahul has also performed ever since he was shifted to the middle-order from the opening position.
In the absence of both these players, the Indian team management is trying Suryakumar Yadav and Sanju Samson in the middle overs. They both played in the recently concluded ODI series against West Indies. Suryakumar played all the 3 matches of the series but could not produce a single impressive innings.
While Samson played 2 matches and smashed a brilliant half-century in the 3rd match of the series. With this series, Suryakumar’s hopes to get a spot in the ODI squad seem to be ended. He was a huge failure in his previous ODI series against Australia where he registered 3 successive golden ducks.
