India’s pace ace Jasprit Bumrah has been out of competitive action since September last year due to a stress fracture. He had to undergo back surgery and is currently in rehab at Bengaluru’s National Cricket Academy. Recently, there have been a lot of reports about his returning match fitness. It was earlier reported that he will be a part of the travelling squad for the T20I series against Ireland in August. The same was also reiterated by Indian Cricket Board honorary secretary Jay Shah in his recent media interaction.

In the latest update, a video of the Indian pacer bowling to Mumbai batters in a practice game at the NCA surfaced online. In the shared video, the right-hander can be seen bowling full throttle to the batters. However, it is not sure if his average speed has decreased from earlier due to the visible tweaks in his action. The batter facing him played his deliveries very comfortably. The viral video has already done rounds on social media platforms and fans on Twitter have flooded the comment sections.

Here’s the viral video:

Jasprit Bumrah recorded figures of 1/34 from 10 overs

The Mumbai senior team has been camping in Alur in Bengaluru at a Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) facility for the past two weeks. They had the chance to face Jasprit Bumrah’s variations during their preparations. Bumrah completed his quota of 10 overs in two separate spells and returned with figures of 1/34 in his ten overs, including two maidens. Mumbai opening batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi was dismissed for an eight-ball duck and was Bumrah’s only scalp from the practice game.

The video demonstrated the right-hander’s match fitness. There would be high hopes for Jasprit Bumrah upon his return to international cricket. As of now, the three-match T20I series in India’s tour of Ireland seems to be his way back. Asia Cup ODI 2023 and the ODI World Cup 2023 are the major tournaments that Bumrah is eyeing. Having him back for the two marquee tournaments would be a huge boost for Indian Cricket Team.
