Team India is just a few hours away from playing the second Test vs England in Visakhapatnam. Young Dhruv Jurel was given a call-up to the Indian team for the first two Tests vs England.

The young wicketkeeper might have to wait a while to make his Test debut for India. During a chat with Jio Cinema, Dhruv Jurel recalled a chat he had with former India legend MS Dhoni.

According to the youngster, the chat with the great man brought a new insight into his game. After an amazing season with Rajasthan Royals, many fans lauded the batting prowess shown by the youngster.

Dhruv Jurel’s life-changing chat with MS Dhoni

For any upcoming wicketkeeper in the modern, there is no bigger inspiration than MS Dhoni. Young Dhruv Jurel is no different as the 22-year-old shared his delightful experience meeting the former India icon. IPL 2023 was the first time when the young man from UP could have a chance to meet MSD.

Speaking to Jio Cinema here’s what Jurel said “I have always been the biggest fan of MS Dhoni. Last year, I got a chance to speak to him and I asked him, ‘What is your mindset when you are going inside?’. He simply said, ‘Just watch the ball and play. Don’t think about anything. Whatever pressure is coming, it’s coming from outside.” Just like his active playing career, Dhoni stressed the need to follow the process. “You just have to visualise how you are going to play a bowler. Just let it be, get your preparation done, and just watch the ball. You have already done so much, that’s why you are here, just don’t doubt yourself, go out and play, and express yourself. Don’t worry about the result, focus on the process”

Ishan Kishan not being available was a huge chance for a new wicketkeeper and batter. KS Bharat and Dhruv Jurel were named in the team as the two wicketkeepers. Despite losing the first Test, many feel that KS Bharat will keep his spot in the team. The 30-year-old batted well in the second innings when the Indian team were 119/7 at one stage.

During the conversation, Dhruv Jurel recalled his reaction after being given his maiden India call-up. “I was literally in shock. Every kid playing cricket dreams of playing for the Indian national team. While seeing my name, I thought that I am living a dream”

Nepal Premier League Final

Nepal Premier League Final! Janakpur Bolts clinched the inaugural Nepal Premier League title by defeating Sudurpaschim Royals in a thrilling final. The Bolts showcased remarkable resilience, chasing down a target of 187 runs with five wickets in hand at the TU International Cricket Ground.

Sudurpaschim Royals, batting first, set a competitive total of 184 for nine wickets, led by Saif Zaib and Binod Bhandari. Zaib scored a solid 69 runs, while Bhandari added a crucial 41. However, their middle order failed to capitalize on a strong start, succumbing to disciplined bowling from Janakpur’s attack.

Kishor Mahato and Mohammad Mohisin starred with the ball for Janakpur, each claiming three wickets. Lalit Rajbanshi bowled an exceptional spell, conceding just 15 runs, including a maiden over. Their efforts restricted Sudurpaschim from posting a more imposing total.

In response, Janakpur’s Lahiru Milantha led the charge with a stunning 87 runs off 49 balls, including six fours and as many sixes. His innings anchored the chase, despite early pressure from Sudurpaschim’s bowlers. Aasif Sheikh, the Janakpur captain, played a vital supporting role, ensuring a composed finish.
