Pakistan Cricket team captain Babar Azam found himself in the middle of trouble when he attracted the attention of the traffic police while driving his Audi in Lahore’s Gulberg area. He was fined PKR 2,000 for two infractions, initially, he was pulled over for a lane violation, but during the interaction with traffic police, it was discovered that he did not possess a valid driver’s license.

Babar cooperated calmly with the officer, recognizing the responsibilities that come with his public figure status. However, an image of him standing with a traffic police went viral on social media. Fans took notice of the incident and started trolling the right-handed batter for breaking traffic rules.

Earlier this year, Babar was stopped by traffic officers at Liberty Chowk, Lahore. They noticed that the numbers on his license plate were unusually small and did not adhere to the standard size regulations. Out of concern for rule compliance, the officers suggested Babar replace his number plate with a standard one.

The excise officers checked Babar’s paperwork, including his vehicle’s registration and tax documents. Despite the momentary inconvenience, Babar remained composed and displayed his friendly demeanour which speaks volumes about his calm nature both on and off the field.

The tournament is set to kick off on October 5 where the 2019 World Cup finalists England and New Zealand will clash against each other in the opening match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
