‘Hasde chehreya da matlab eh ni hunda’ – Fans react as Sanju Samson breaks silence after his snub from India’s ODI squad for series against Australia
The much-awaited squad announcement of the Indian cricket team for the upcoming 3-match home ODI series against Australia was finally made by the Indian Cricket Board on Monday, September 18. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar announced two different squads for the first 2 matches and the 3rd match of the series.
However, what caught the most attention was veteran spinner R Ashwin’s inclusion in the squad. But many fans were disappointed when they got to know that wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson, who has an outstanding average in the ODI format, didn’t get a place in the squad.
Samson himself felt disappointed and shared a cryptic post on Facebook. Samson took to his Facebook handle and made a post without writing anything but just a smiling emoji. Fans reacted to his post and supported him through encouraging comments. Even former cricketers like Irfan Pathan and Robin Uthappa were also disappointed to see Samson not getting a place in the squad.

Will Sanju Samson get a chance in the upcoming ODI World Cup?
It seems that Samson is not in the scheme of the Indian team management as KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan are constantly getting opportunities which they have utilised very well. On the other hand, Samson might have performed well in some matches but he never looked in a great touch.
For first two ODIs: KL Rahul (c), Shubman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, Tilak Varma, Prasidh Krishna, R Ashwin, Washington Sundar.
For 3rd ODI: Rohit Sharma (c), Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, Hardik Pandya, Virat Kohli, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel (subject to fitness), R Ashwin, Washington Sundar.
