India’s domestic season is fast reaching its end as the group phase matches ended over the weekend. Now the focus of the players will be on the knock matches which are set to start from the 23rd of February.

With just 8 teams left in the group, the focus now moves on to the players who are calling it quits. Few of the most experienced players are set to quit the game and move on to the green pastures of life.

In this list, we cast a look at the top 5 players who will bid goodbye to cricket after India’s domestic season.

5- Faiz Fazal – Vidarbha –

38-year-old Faiz Fazal has decided to quit the spot at the end of the Indian Cricket’s Domestic season. The left-handed batter played his last game for Vidarbha against Haryana recently. With 9184 runs from 139 games with an average of 41, Fazal will retire as domestic cricket giant. The batter has also played for India in a single ODI game scoring 55 not out vs Zimbabwe in 2016.

4- Dhawal Kulkarni – Mumbai

Once considered one of the brightest prospects, Dhawal Kulkarni didn’t fully realize his international potential. The 35-year-old is set to retire from the Indian Domestic Cricket at the end of the season. The pacer has picked 281 wickets from 95 games and also scored 1793 runs with the bat. For India, Kulkarni has played 12 ODI games picking 19 wickets and 3 wickets from 2 T20I matches.

3- Saurabh Tiwary – Jharkhand

The left-handed batter was once compared to the great MS Dhoni for his big-hitting capabilities. Saurabh Tiwary a former teammate of Virat Kohli in the Under-19 days also played 3 ODI matches. After playing 116 games for his Jharkhand side, Saurabh Tiwary is set to quit the sport. The 34-year-old has hit 8076 runs with 22 centuries and 34 half-centuries.

2- Manoj Tiwary – Bengal

Once thought of as the next white ball middle order batter for India, Manoj Tiwari saw his career fizzle out. Last year the former India star had retired briefly before making his comeback. The 2023-24 Indian domestic season for all intents and purposes is set to be his final swansong. The right-handed batter has played 148 games scoring over 10,000 runs with 30 centuries.

1- Varun Aaron – Jharkhand

At the age of 21, Varun Aaron made Indian cricket fans go crazy by clocking speeds of over 150 KPH. Just a year later the international debut came out as fans wanted to see him become the fastest bowler. Injury issues and bad bowling form meant that Varun Aaron played just 9 ODI and 9 Tests for India. The 34-year-old is set to bid red-ball cricket goodbye at the end of the season. With 173 wickets from 66 games, Varun Aaron is one of the saddest cases of Indian cricket.
