Owner of ‘BAS’ bat sticker reveals MS Dhoni letting go of ‘Lucrative’ deal

MS Dhoni has received huge praise from Sami Kohli, the owner of the bat sticker company named ‘Beat All Sports (BAS)’. Recently, the former Indian batter was seen sporting the sticker of ‘Prime Sports’ for his bat in one of his practice sessions. The owner of Prime Sports, Paramjit Singh, appreciated the move of the CSK batter and called it ‘Friendship number one’.  

The gesture of the 42-year-old soon caught the attention of many former cricketers, which includes the likes of Adam Gilchrist and Michael Hussey. Following the appreciation from Paramjit, Dhoni has received a similar appreciation from Sami Kohli. The owner of BAS has revealed an incident where the former India skipper let go of a lucrative deal. 

Speaking to ‘Sports Launchpad’ in an interview, Kohli claimed that the star cricketer did not ask for money. “Dhoni did not mention any money. He just said, ‘Put your stickers on my bats and send them across’. I tried to convince him, ‘You’re letting go of such a lucrative contract’. He let go crores of rupees worth of contract,” the owner of Beat All Sports (BAS) claimed. 

Association between MS Dhoni and ‘BAS’

Sami added that he said the same to Sakshi Dhoni, the wife of MS before the ODI World Cup (2019). He revealed that Dhoni denied charging any money for the sponsorship. “I requested his wife Sakshi, his father, mother. Even told his CA and Paramjit from Ranchi. They all went to his home before the World Cup. But he said ‘No… it is my decision’,” added Kohli in his statement. MS sported the stickers of BAS and SS during the ODI WC 2019.  

Dhoni’s association with BAS dates to the 1990s. In 1998, BAS sponsored their sticker to the star batter in the making. After MS scored a sensational 148 against Pakistan in 2004 at Vizag, Kohli got a chance to meet Dhoni. After the incident. Dhoni signed contracts with many companies like Spartan and Reebok. However, Sami kept on sending his kits to the star batter out of love and friendship.
