Dream Girl 2

Dream Girl 2 by Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Pandey had a respectable box office debut with Rs 9.7 crore, narrowly missing the double-digit threshold. On Friday, Dream Girl 2’s Hindi occupancy was 29.51% overall. Ayushmann is hoping that Dream Girl 2 will be a huge commercial success since his previous four films, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, Anek, Doctor G, and An Action Hero, were box-office disappointments.

Dream Girl 2 isn’t currently facing any challenging competition because movies like Gadar 2, Jailer, and OMG 2 have already been in theatres for two weeks. The film is a sequel to Dream Girl, which was released in 2019. According to Bollywood Hungama, Dream Girl started off similarly and brought in Rs 10.50 crore on its first day, but it ultimately became Ayushmann’s biggest hit, grossing Rs 142 crore.

Dream Girl 2 opening numbers:

The Indian box office has been on an upward trend since the pandemic-caused dip, showing signs of recovery. The opening day revenue for Dream Girl 2 is comparable to that of recent films like OMG 2 (Rs 10.26 crore), Satyaprem Ki Katha (Rs 9.25 crore), and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (Rs 11 crore).

The love comedy directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa has Bollywood movies’ eighth-highest openings in 2023. The highest-grossing film is Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan (Rs 55 crore nett), followed by Gadar 2 (Rs 40.10 crore nett), Adipurush (Rs 37 crore nett), Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan (Rs 15.81 crore nett), and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar (Rs 15.73 crore). Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, and Ajay Devgn’s Bholaa, with a nett budget of Rs. 10.50 crore, are also included on that list.

Ekta and Shobha Kapoor are the producers of Dream Girl 2, which is directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and released by Balaji Motion Pictures. Among the other actors who appear in the film are Paresh Rawal, Manjot Singh, Seema Pahwa, Annu Kapoor, Rajpal Yadav, Abhishek Banerjee, Asrani, Vijay Raaz, and Manoj Joshi.

While Dream Girl 2 and Akelli were both released on August 25, Akelli by Nushratt Bharuccha did not do well at the box office. It only brought in a pitiful Rs 0.20 crore nett on the first day and is now hoping for a much-needed boost over the weekend.
