South Africa middle-order batter David Miller was saved by the non-availability of DRS during the ongoing third T20I against India. Apparently, during the ongoing second innings of the game, the technology was unavailable. Apparently, in the eighth over of the innings, Tilak Varma came into the bowl and the commentators announced on air that DRS was temporarily unavailable. In this over, it didn’t even matter.

However, in the next over, after hitting two sixes against Ravindra Jadeja, Miller tried to defend but was beaten. Wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma and Jadeja appealed for the caught behind. To the shock of the fans, the umpire called it not out despite the ball kissing the outside edge of the bat. The DRS was available only after the end of the over. Not just the DRS but skipper Suryakumar Yadav was on the field too.

Meanwhile, talking about the game, the home team, Proteas won the toss and chose to bowl first. After getting hit for 29/0 in two overs, they managed to take two back-to-back when Keshav Maharaj came to bowl the third over. At this stage, the likes of skipper Yadav and Yashasvi Jaiswal put together 113 runs for the third wicket. While the former scored his fourth T20I hundred, Jaiswal hit another fifty.

Thanks to them, the Men In Blue reached 201/7. In reply, the Yellow Brigade had a decent start in the powerplay but lost three wickets for 42 runs. After this, there was no coming back for the home side as they kept losing wickets and were bowled out for 95 runs, losing the game by 106 runs. Birthday boy, Kuldeep Yadav took another five-wicket haul in the shortest format of the game.

India’s WTC Final chances are at risk as rain continues to affect the Brisbane Test against Australia. With the ICC World Test Championship qualification at stake, this match plays a pivotal role in deciding India’s pathway to the final. Rain interruptions have hindered Australia’s push to enforce the follow-on, giving India a potential lifeline.

Australia took an early lead in the match, showcasing dominant performances with both bat and ball. However, persistent rainfall has disrupted their plans to finish the game strongly. For India, the inclement weather has provided a much-needed opportunity to recover and aim for a draw, which is crucial for keeping their WTC hopes alive.

Currently, Australia sits comfortably at the top of the WTC standings (India’s WTC Final chances), while India faces mounting pressure to secure crucial points. Analysts have pointed out that India’s first-innings batting collapse has only made their road to the final tougher. A draw in Brisbane would offer India some relief, but subsequent matches will demand consistent victories to secure a spot in the WTC Final.

As rain continues to impact the game, both teams face uncertainty, with the result holding significant implications for the WTC standings. Fans eagerly await the resolution of this rain-affected clash.
