Border Gavaskar Trophy and Pataudi trophy mark big calendar year for India in 2024
India will be having a hectic schedule in the year 2024. There will be several big series and tournaments in which India will be taking part. Some such series are the Border Gavaskar Trophy, the Pataudi Trophy, and T20 World Cup 2024. These series will be very important for India to emerge as a top team in the world in the year. India would be hoping to win all of them.
The first assignment for India would be to beat South Africa in the second Test at Cape Town. After the end of the Test, the Indian team will return home and take part in 3 T20Is against Afghanistan, which would be the only series for India ahead of the T20 WC 2024, where they will get to prepare for the big tournament. From the 25th of January, India’s Test series against England will start.
The big series will conclude in March. The Indian players will get some rest before taking part in the IPL 2024. After the conclusion of the franchise cricket, Indian players will regroup to join the squad for the T20 World Cup 2024. The entire month of June and some part of July would be spent in the big tournament, where India starts as one of the favourites to win.

After the conclusion of the T20 WC 2024, India would be facing Sri Lanka in their backyard. The away tour involves 3 ODIs and T20Is respectively in July. The players will get some rest before taking part in the home series against Bangladesh in September and October. India will play 2 Tests and 3 T20Is against Bangladesh. In October and November, India will host a strong opponent at home.
New Zealand will be in India for a 3-Test match series in the next two months. It will be huge for both sides as far as the third cycle of the WTC is concerned. India will then tour Australia for a big Test series. The Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25 in Australia will happen in November 2024, December 2024, and January 2025. 4 of those Tests would be in 2024.
