A few still images of India batter Suryakumar Yadav shooting a video with fans wearing masks are going viral. In the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023, he has played only two games so far, i.e. against 2019 finalists, England and New Zealand. Apparently, Yadav is playing as all-rounder Hardik Pandya got injured during the game against Bangladesh. At this point, the all-rounder might not play before the Netherlands game.

Meanwhile, in the video that has surfaced, a fan asked him to improve his game in ODI cricket. Talking about his ODI and T20I career, it has been a stark contrast. In 53 games of the shortest format, the right-hander has 1841 runs to his name averaging 46.02 including three hundreds. On the other hand, after 32 ODIs, the four-time IPL winner has 718 runs averaging 27.61 including four fifties.

Suryakumar Yadav played an important knock against England

The Mumbaikar made his ODI World Cup debut against New Zealand. In that game, he got out to a single-digit score as he got run out due to a misunderstanding with former India skipper Virat Kohli. In the next game, the former scored 49 runs batting with the tailenders after Ravindra Jadeja was trapped lbw by Adil Rashid.

From 183/7, the team reached 229/9. This proved vital as the team went on to win the game by 100 runs. Now, on November 2, the 33-year-old will play at his home against Sri Lanka, in what is supposedly a re-match between the two teams after the 2011 final. The Men In Blue are favorites as the Lankan Lions don’t have the best bowling resources, even though they bowled out England for 156.

The batters such as Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, and Suryakumar Yadav will look for big runs against the 1999 winners.
