Aaila ye toh shuru hote hi khatam hogaya’ – Fans react as Wanindu Hasaranga set to retire from Test Cricket
Over the past few years, many great cricketers said goodbye to cricket and announced their retirement from the game. Taking retirement is an inevitable part of every player’s career but hanging boots at a very young age often gets quite shocking for the fans and many cricketers as well.
Continuing the retirement trend, Sri Lanka’s star leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga has informed the Sri Lanka Cricket Board about his decision. He has told that he has to pay full attention to the ODI and T20 formats. For this reason, he wants to say goodbye to the red-ball cricket. Hasaranga has only played 4 Test matches so far, taking 4 wickets and scoring 196 runs.
Many fans reacted to the news and were left shocked after seeing this. However, there were also some fans who didn’t miss the chance and started trolling Hasaranga by saying that his Test career wasn’t even started and he took the retirement. While many also said that he is following the retirement trend and will soon make a comeback again as they believe that he did all this just to remain in the headlines.
Can Hasaranga help Sri Lanka to win Asia Cup 2023?
Hasaranga is currently in action in the ongoing Lanka Premier League (LPL). He will be next in seen in the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. He played a huge role in Sri Lanka’s last year Asia Cup’s victory, however, this time the tournament will be played in the 50-over format and it’d be interesting to see if continues to dominate in the ODIs too or not.
Hasaranaga is one of the most lethal leg-spinners of this generation. The 26-year-old Sri Lankan has proved his worth in the T20 format in almost every franchise league he has played in. Apart from his magnificent bowling, Hasaranga also has the ability to score quick runs and that too by just dealing in boundaries. He is also very brilliant in the field.
Here’s how fans reacted:
Nowadays retirement is just another way of making a headline.
