2nd ODI Predictions: India vs West Indies
The 2nd ODI match between India and West Indies will be played on 24th July at the Queen’s Park Oval.
In a nail-biting first ODI, India won by a narrow margin of 3 runs and is currently leading the series by 1-0.
What happened in the 1st ODI
West Indies won the toss and opted to bowl first.
However, even without its top players, India put on a brilliant batting performance led by captain Shikhar Dhawan.
The leftie bounced back after consecutive failures in England to score a well-paced 97.
He faced 99 balls and smashed 10 boundaries and three huge sixes. Shubman Gill complemented him scoring 64 runs at the strike rate of 120.
Alzarri Joseph and Gudakesh Motie picked a couple of wickets each.
Kyle Mayers was the most successful batter for the Windies, scoring 75 runs off 68 balls with the help of 10 boundaries and one huge six.
Brandon King chipped in with a fifty plus score. Romario Shepherd remained not out after scoring 39 runs on 25 balls with three boundaries and two huge sixes, as West Indies were stranded just three runs behind target.
Team Analysis
Dhawan, Gill and Shreyas Iyer showed commendable form.
Interestingly, all three had a horrible series against England.
Shreyas Iyer scored 54 runs, smashing five boundaries and two huge sixes.
However, the Indian bowling was definitely below par.
They leaked 300 runs in 50 overs.
Mohammed Siraj was the only most impactful bowler with two wickets to his name in ten overs against 57 runs.
Most of the bowlers were ineffective. Though Yuzvendra Chahal picked two wickets, he went off for 58 runs.
Deepak Hooda, Axar Patel, and Prasidh Krishna could not manage to pick any wicket.
Hence, Arshdeep Singh or Avesh Khan might come into the side at the expense of Prasidh Krishna.
West Indies might go in the same team composition of the 1st ODI.
Kyle Mayers, Shamarh Brooks, Brandon King, and Nicholas Pooran showed a lot of grit to keep India in check throughout the match.
Even Akeal Hosein and Romario Shepherd played well in the end overs to keep West Indies alive.
The Windies bowling did well in the end overs to restrict India to below 310.
Alzarri Joseph, Jayden Seales, Romario Shepherd, K Mayers, Motie, Akeal Hosein, and the skipper, Nicholas Pooran were used as bowlers in the first match.

Virat Kohli to Move to London with Family, Coach Confirms
Virat Kohli’s childhood coach, Rajkumar Sharma, has confirmed that Kohli, wife Anushka Sharma, and their children, Vamika and Akaay, plan to relocate to London. Sharma revealed that the cricketer envisions settling in the UK post-retirement. Virat Kohli frequently visits London, where their son Akaay was born earlier this year on February 15.
The couple owns property in London, where they are expected to reside after the move. “Yes, Virat plans to move to London with his family soon. However, he is currently focused on cricket and spending time with his family,” Sharma stated.
Kohli has balanced cricket commitments and family time this year. After the birth of his son, he returned to India following the T20 World Cup in June and played series against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Currently participating in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia, his next major assignment is the Champions Trophy, followed by IPL 2025.
Despite a dip in form during recent matches against Australia, Sharma expressed confidence in Kohli’s ability to deliver. “Virat scored a brilliant century in Perth and will bounce back in the Boxing Day and Sydney Tests,” Sharma said.
Regarding Kohli’s career longevity, Sharma dismissed retirement rumors. “Virat is fit and will continue playing for at least five more years. He will likely participate in the 2027 World Cup in South Africa,” he added. Sharma emphasized Kohli’s passion for cricket and his ability to perform under pressure.
As Kohli continues to shine on the field, his potential relocation marks a new chapter for the cricket icon and his family.
