Hardik Pandya is aiming to make a comeback as soon as possible. The star player sustained an injury while attempting to stop a ball from travelling towards the boundary ropes. Hardik posted an image of his process to attain recovery as soon as possible before the beginning of the IPL 2024. Hardik will be playing for MI in the 17th edition of the biggest cricket league.

In the game against Bangladesh in the ODI WC 2023, the star player tried to stop the ball from his legs after his run-up. In the process, Hardik ended up twisting his ankle. As a result, Hardik was ruled out of the ODI WC 2023. In the series against SA and Australia, Hardik did not play and remained out of the side. It was a big concern for the Indian team.

Since then, there have been a lot of things that have not gone well with the star player. The first of it was the trade that happened between GT and MI. For an amount of INR 15 crores, MI got Hardik from GT. Reports claim that a lot of money has also been involved under the official pages. It has been a hefty trade for MI, and they would want their player fit for the league.

New captain for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024

For the first time since 2013, MI will be led by a different captain for an entire season other than Rohit Sharma. The star batter has represented MI as the captain in every season since 2013. Under the captaincy of Rohit, MI won 5 trophies. In 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020, MI won the title. Along with MS Dhoni, Rohit is the most successful captain in the league.

But MI decided to name Hardik as their new captain for IPL 2024. The All-rounder has proved his captaincy in the league by leading GT to a title win in 2022. Even in IPL 2023, GT performed very well. GT topped the group and lost the final in a thrilling match against CSK. Mumbai Indians would hence want their captain to be fit as soon as possible.
