‘Yeh kya bawasir DRS bana ke diye ho’ – Fans shocked with Steve Smith’s LBW dismissal against South Africa in ODI WC 2023

Former Australia skipper Steve Smith was given out LBW that has shocked the fans. Apparently, in the eighth over the second innings, Kagiso Rabada came to bowl and conceded two boundaries. However, in the fifth ball of the over, Smith was hit on the pads. While the Proteas appealed for the LBW, the on-field umpire, Joel Wilson turned down the appeal.

After this, the Green Brigade decided to take a review. As to the shock of the fans, Smith, and the umpire, the ball-tracker found out that the ball was hitting the stumps.

This has led the fans to have a discussion about whether the ball was heading down the leg side (looking like it was missing the stumps). Talking about the game, the Proteas lost the toss and was asked to bat first on a supporting wicket for spinners. Quinton de Kock (108) scored his second back-to-back hundred. Apart from him, Aiden Markram, coming off the fastest ODI World Cup hundred, scored another fifty.

Thanks to them, the team reached 311/7 at the end of the innings. For the five-time winners, Mitchell Starc and Glenn Maxwell took two wickets each. Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins, and Adam Zampa took one each. In reply, the Australians have lost six wickets for 70 runs and they are looking like getting all out on a low score. With the NRR on a lower side, the Kangaroos will be hurt if they managed to lose the game by a big margin.
