WWE character gimmicks can often benefit from the storyline of a wrestler being arrested. Out of these, several superstars have been arrested live on TV. This has gone on to add interesting angles to a WWE wrestler’s story and has benefitted their popularity in the company. Here are the top five superstars arrested live on TV.
5. Brock Lesnar

The feud between Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker got a little more than just personal in 2015. The Undertaker tried to take revenge against Lesnar for ending his unbeaten streak in WrestleMania. Lesnar had to be arrested for starting a mass brawl against The Undertaker as the security personnel could not stop him. Later, he was placed in handcuffs and the show ended. However, this was only the start of the rivalry. He was arrested several times through the years with the feud being central to them all.
4. Goldberg

Brock Lesnar is again involved here. His rivalry with Goldberg in 2004 saw the two wrestlers attack each other’s brands. Goldberg received a ticket to the No Way Out event of Smackdown whereas Brock Lesnar and Eddie Guerrero faced off with the Lesnar’s WWE Championship on the line. The match was interfered with by Golberg who jumped the guardrails and speared Brock Lesnar. He was arrested live on air but the punishment was worth it because Guerrero took advantage of the spear to win the WWE Championship.

In an eyebrow-raising turn of events, Rey Mysterio’s son Dominik Mysterio turned against his father and assaulted him during Thanksgiving of 2022. He has now joined hands with Judgement Day and Rhea Ripley in one of the most iconic WWE storylines of recent years. He is also considered the most despicable WWE character right now for turning against his own father. This is the most recent arrest that makes it to the Top 3 on this list.
2. Charlotte Flair, Ronda Rousey, and Becky Lynch

One of the more recent on-air arrests was that of Charlotte Flair, Ronda Rousey, and Becky Lynch. All three ladies were involved in a massive brawl on the road to WrestleMania 35. The three had to be separated by the security forces and cops who had to suffer a blow or two in the process. Charlotte, placed under handcuffs used her momentum to knee Rousey’s head sticking out of the backseat window. The segment made for a must-watch and was later trending on YouTube, creating a massive social media buzz.

Steve Austin’s rise to fame saw him clash with Authority figures in 1997. The Rattlesnake’s often clashed with Vince McMahon including in a promo segment where he struck McMahon with a stunner. He had be to arrested by police officials on air and the moment became iconic in no time. Moreover, he had a wide smile on his face and showed off his raised middle finger in rebellion while being handcuffed. This major storyline sealed his spot as WWE’s next untouchable superstar.
