With ₹1055 crore worldwide collection, Jawan beats Pathaan!
It is Shah Rukh Khan v/s Shah Rukh Khan to the end. Bollywood’s King Khan Shah Rukh Khan has been competing with himself at the box office. No one can ever stand next to him in the competition except himself. The actor has proved to everyone that he is called the Bollywood King for a reason. Now, Jawan has created history as it beats Pathaan and becomes the highest-grossing film of this year. Yes, you have read that right!
By collecting over 1055 INR crores at the box office, Jawan beats the lifetime numbers of Pathaan. For the unversed, Pathaan was released this year on 26 January 2023. Shah Rukh Khan then released his next with Atlee on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami on 7th September 2023. Within 23 days of its release, Jawan has surpassed the lifetime collection of Pathaan.
Biggest blockbuster of 2023- Jawan:
In India Jawan has collected 705 crores INR. Apart from this, at the overseas box office, Jawan has minted 350 crores INR. Making Jawan the fifth highest-grossing film in India and the second-biggest Hindi film across the globe. Aamir Khan’s Dangal still stands at the first place with ₹1968.03 crore collection globally.
Meanwhile, at the domestic box office, Jawan stands as the highest-grossing film of the year 2023 with a collection of ₹587 crore. The film has surpassed Gadar 2 and Pathaan in numbers and is now headed towards the ₹ 600 crores club. It is clear, that Shah Rukh Khan is the only actor to hold two massive blockbusters in a single year with ₹1000 crore collections for each.
Let us tell you, it is not over for the superstar yet for this year. As per the reports, Shah Rukh Khan’s next along with the ace filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani titled Dunki is scheduled to release this Christmas. However, the official release date of their dream collaboration film is yet to be announced. Along with Shah Rukh Khan, Dunki will also feature actress Tapsee Pannu in the lead.
Jawan had an amazing ensemble. The film featured Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover, Ridhi Dogra, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Girija Oak, Lehar Khan and Aaliyah Qureishi. Along with them, Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt had special extended cameos in the film.
