In 2023, Rachin showcased his prowess with both the bat and the ball, amassing a total of 911 runs in 31 international innings. His impact was not limited to batting, as he also demonstrated his bowling skills by taking 23 wickets in 28 innings.

While Rachin Ravindra’s rise to prominence was remarkable, other young talents also made significant strides in 2023. Indian cricketer Yashasvi Jaiswal, a left-handed opener, had a breakthrough year, securing a regular place in India’s T20I and Test squads. Although he scored 718 runs in 19 international innings with two centuries, he was not part of the ODI World Cup.

Gerald Coetzee, the 23-year-old right-arm pacer from South Africa, displayed consistent excellence across formats. With 47 wickets in 24 innings, he was the leading wicket-taker for the Proteas in 2023. Coetzee’s impactful performances, especially in the ODI World Cup, where he claimed 20 wickets in eight innings, made him a strong contender for the Emerging Cricketer of the Year award.
