‘Well played Kane Mama!!’ – Fans react as Kane Williamson registers a half century in New Zealand’s first warmup game against Pakistan
The New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson made a terrific comeback into the international arena with a brilliant knock of 54 runs off just 50 deliveries against Pakistan in their first warm-up game at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The star New Zealand batter blasted eight boundaries in his innings and looked elegant out in the middle. Eventually, the team management and he himself decided to adjourn himself retired hurt as he is making a comeback from injury.
Williamson underwent surgery in April after experiencing a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). In addition to it, it was earlier also informed that the 33-year-old batter is likely to miss New Zealand’s first game against England. However, the team management decided that the prolific batter would be taking part in both the warm-up games. But adhering to a cautious approach, Williamson will only be seen fielding.

Rachin Ravindra missed a well-deserved century by just three runs
Chasing a mammoth score of 345 runs to win, the New Zealand opener, Rachin Ravindra made a brilliant 97 off just 72 deliveries. After the dismissal of Devon Conway, the 23-year-old stitched a brilliant partnership of 179 runs with the skipper Williamson. Throughout his innings, the young all-rounder looked in supreme touch as he played both spin and swing effectively.
The star all-rounder was expensive with the ball as he conceded 60 runs in eight accounting for no wicket. But had certainly made it up with a superb batting display. In his innings, where one would feel he missed out on a well-deserved century, Rachin smashed 16 boundaries and one mighty six.
