India maintained their dominance in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 by securing their 9th consecutive victory in the tournament. They triumphed over the Netherlands in the last league stage match held in Bengaluru on November 12, winning by a margin of 160 runs. With this win, India is now gearing up to face New Zealand in the first semi-final scheduled at the renowned Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on November 15.

In the midst of this cricketing success, a video has gone viral on social media showcasing the former India captain and contemporary cricket star, Virat Kohli. The video captures Kohli mimicking the iconic celebrations of football legends Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi during the match against the Dutch, adding an entertaining and lighthearted touch to the cricketing spectacle.

The incident occurred when India’s fast bowler, Mohammed Siraj, secured the initial breakthrough for the team, prompting Kohli to join in the celebration. During the jubilation, they mimicked Ronaldo’s famous ‘Siuu’ move, adding a vibrant atmosphere to the ground. Notably, before adopting the ‘Siuu’ celebration, Kohli was observed celebrating the wicket in the style of Lionel Messi.

Brilliant all-round performance by India

Discussing the match, India’s opening pair, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill provided a solid foundation, accumulating 100 runs together before Gill was dismissed for 51(32) in the 12th over. Rohit contributed 61(54) before being dismissed by Bas de Leede.

Kohli, in excellent form, also made a valuable contribution with 51 runs, after which KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer took charge. Rahul, displaying more aggression, scored an impressive 102 off 64 balls, while Iyer remained unbeaten with a score of 128(94). Centuries from both players propelled India to a formidable total of 410/4 while batting first.

In the second innings, Siraj provided India with an early breakthrough, but Colin Ackermann and Max ODowd helped the Netherlands recover from the early setback. They forged a 50-plus partnership for the second wicket, taking the Netherlands to 62/1 by the end of the first powerplay. Kuldeep Yadav then dismissed Ackermann for 35(32), and shortly after, Ravindra Jadeja removed ODowd for 30(42). Kohli, surprisingly, claimed his first ODI wicket in nine years by removing Scott Edwards from the opposition.

The madness came into play when Gill and Suryakumar Yadav were also seen bowling, however, they didn’t get any wickets. However, in the end, the skipper stepped up himself and took the last wicket for the team.
