Rohit Sharma is having a tremendous outing in the ongoing 2023 ODI World Cup both as a captain and batter. The 36-year-old has led from the front in all five of India’s victories so far. With their latest win over New Zealand, India have climbed to the top of the points table. Meanwhile, Rohit is currently third in the list of leading run scorers with 311 runs.

It was India’s first win against New Zealand in a major international tournament in 20 years. Mohammed Shami’s five-wicket haul helped India restrict New Zealand to 273 runs in Dharamsala. Skipper Rohit (46 off 40) once again provided a solid start at the top order and later Virat Kohli steadied the ship. His 104-ball 95 took India almost to the finish line, with all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja also playing a brilliant cameo in the end to hand India a famous win.

Meanwhile, two days after India’s historic win over the Black Caps, Rohit’s interview is going viral on social media. The interviewer is none other than his wife Ritika Sajdeh. A lovely conversation between the two helps us to know more about the Indian captain as a family man. The interview starts with Ritika asking Rohit if anyone has referred the opening batter to ‘Sharma Ji Ka Beta’. Second, Ritika asks whether she is a better wife or a better manager. Rohit gave a heartwarming reply saying that she is a great mother.

Rohit and Co. aim to continue their dominance

Team India’s next assignment is against England on October 29 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Given India’s red-hot form in all departments and England‘s humiliating defeats, the Men in Blue are favourites to win the match. A win against the defending champions would boost India’s chances of qualification.

“Good start to the tournament. Job is half done. Important to stay balanced. Not to think too far ahead. Important to stay in the present. I am enjoying my batting. Both are different personalities but we (Him and Gill) compliment each other. Happy that we won. Nothing much to say,” said Rohit said after India’s 4-wicket win over New Zealand.
