Shubman Gill got his fifty and got out immediately
Meanwhile, the 2018 U19 World Cup winner scored his maiden World Cup fifty in the ongoing game. Having missed the first two games (against Australia and Afghanistan), he didn’t have a great game against the arch-rivals, Pakistan. Meanwhile, in the ongoing game, the right-hander hit five fours and two sixes to get his fifty.
However, right this, he got caught at deep midwicket by Mahmudullah Riyadh. Talking about the game, the Tigers won the toss and elected to bat first. They had a great start with Tanzid Hasan and Litton Das putting together 93 runs, their highest opening partnership in ODI World Cup history. However, with the team losing quite a lot of wickets in the middle overs, the team was restricted to 256/8. For the home team, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Ravindra Jadeja took two wickets each.
On the other hand, Shardul Thakur and Kuldeep Yadav took one each. In reply, the two-time winners had a great start as skipper Rohit Sharma and Gill put together 88 runs in just 12.4 overs. At this point, both batters have gotten out on different stages and the likes of former skipper Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer are taking the game forward. At the time of writing, they have amassed 166/2, needing 87 runs in 23.1 overs.
