WATCH: Samit Dravid performs well for Karnataka in Cooch Behar Trophy

Samit Dravid has taken the internet on storm with his performance in the match against Jammu and Kashmir in the Cooch Behar trophy 2023. India’s head coach Rahul Dravid’s son scored 98 runs with the bat and claimed 3 wickets with the ball in the match which was won by Karnataka by an innings and 130 runs. The rise of Samit in cricket has impressed the fans who wish to see the next Dravid in the making.

Samit Dravid is of 18 years old. In his cricket career, Samit has been making steady moves. With nature, the son of Rahul Dravid is a batter who can bowl a bit. The performance of Samit against J and K has arguably been his most highlighted performance to date. While watching him bat, one could see the obvious class, very similar to his dad.

Rahul was known for his stylish strokes. He was a good player off the back foot but played equally well on the front foot. His cover drive was iconic and Samit played several of those in the match against J and K. Rahul Dravid’s coaching renewal 

Rahul was chosen as the coach of India for the period Nov 2021-Nov 2023. Since his stint came to an end, Indian management thought of the next guru of the side. It seemed as if India did not want to leave Dravid soon and wanted him to coach India till the end of the T20 WC 2024. Reports suggest that the discussion regarding the same would be done after the conclusion of India’s tour of SA.

Meanwhile, India decided to appoint a new coaching staff for the limited overs series against SA. In his free time, Dravid made some time and watched his son play in the match against Uttarakhand in Cooch Behar Trophy. Everyone is eager to watch Samit in the Indian ranks in the upcoming days, who seems to be very talented at a young age.
