WATCH: Rohit Sharma reveals why he flexed his muscles to on-field umpire after hitting 2 sixes against Haris Rauf in India-Pakistan ODI World Cup 2023 clash

India captain Rohit Sharma was all guns blazing in the 12th match of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 against Pakistan at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, October 14. After a brilliant bowling display from the Indian bowlers, Rohit’s magnificent batting display helped the team to achieve a 7-wicket victory.

Meanwhile, Rohit, in a video with India’s star allrounder Hardik Pandya revealed why he flexed his muscle to umpire Marais Erasmus after hitting 2 sixes off Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf’s over. Pandya asked Rohit what was the reason behind him flexing his muscles. The right-handed batter replied that the umpire asked him if there was anything on his bat which is helping him to hit those sixes. To which Rohit replied and said that it was his power while flexing his muscles.

“He was asking me ‘how are you able to hit such sixes. Is there something in your bat.’ I told him, no, it’s not the bat. it’s all power.”

We don’t want to get too excited: Rohit Sharma

Chasing a small target of 192 runs, Rohit blasted the Pakistan bowlers from the start and played a brilliant knock of 86 runs off just 63 balls which included 6 fours and as many sixes. He missed his well-deserved century by 14 runs but ensured that the team get past the target. He talked about the victory in the post-match presentation.

“The bowlers also did their job. Lots of five-fors. [On the team getting together] I will keep my fingers crossed. We don’t want to get too excited and also not get too low as well. It is a long tournament, nine league games and then the semis and final. Just have to keep the balance and go forward. I have said it before, for us it was an opposition [Pakistan] we wanted to play. Every opposition we come against they can beat you. We have to be good on that particular day. The past and future does not matter,” Rohit said in the post-match presentation.
