Indian skipper Rohit Sharma came back to form during the final T20I versus Afghanistan. It was an important game for Rohit after his back-to-back failures in the previous game. This knock will fill the fans and Indian team management with a huge fillip.

It was an amazing day for Rohit Sharma as he got to his fifth T20I century. At one stage the home side was in trouble before Rinku and Rohit began the fight back. With this knock, it has been proved why Rohit Sharma is needed for the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Afghanistan bowlers meanwhile were left shell-shocked. Fareed Ahmed was the star bowler as he picked up three huge wickets. After losing four early wickets the visitors had no answer to India’s onslaught.

Rohit Sharma pulls out finesse and timing

Bengaluru was the venue as Indian skipper Rohit Sharma chose to come back to form. The Indian skipper survived a few early scares to show his full repertoire of shots. During his knock, Rohit Sharma was finding it difficult to face Qais Ahmed.

Sensing the leg-spinner was getting the wood over him, Rohit decided to change tracks. The 36-year-old first played the perfect reverse shot for a huge six that sent the crowd crazy. Yet another reverse sweep meant that the ball sped for four as the runs kept coming for the Indian skipper.

It has been a terrible few months for Rohit Sharma on the captaincy level. India lost the ODI World Cup final to Australia to deny Rohit his first world title. Earlier in 2023, Rohit Sharma and his side had also lost the WTC final to Australia.

This was followed by the 36-year-old losing his captaincy with the Mumbai Indians. Despite winning five titles with the men in blue and gold, Hardik Pandya was named as the skipper. The 30-year-old was back from Gujarat Titans after spending two seasons with the newest IPL team.

On Wednesday it was runs galore at the Chinnaswamy Stadium as Rohit Sharma scored his fifth T20I ton. It was an amazing innings as the 36-year-old showed power and panache to notch up yet another three-figure mark.
